Laurie Reed, COTA/L

Laurie Reed, COTA/L is a dedicated Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant with more than four decades of experience supporting individuals and families through compassionate, evidence-based care. She earned her Associate of Applied Science degree as a COTA in 1983 from Lourdes College (now Lourdes University) and later completed a Bachelor of Independent Studies (BIS) in 1989, with majors in Early Childhood Education and Occupational Therapy Studies.

Laurie has a deep passion for occupational therapy and a broad range of clinical interests, including pediatrics, neurology, hand therapy, visual perception interventions, and intergenerational programming. She places a strong emphasis on family-centered care and enjoys contributing to program development that expands and refines enrichment activities to help families heal, grow, and thrive together.

Her love for occupational therapy began early in her career while working second shift at Sunshine Children’s Home. After picking up an additional shift, she was introduced to a sensory-motor clinic—an experience she describes as life-changing and the moment she truly fell in love with occupational therapy.

Outside of the clinic, Laurie enjoys spending time outdoors, especially going for walks with her brindle bulldog, Bacon. She loves gardening, grilling, cooking for others, crafting, and engaging in ongoing education to continually enhance her therapeutic skills and interventions.
