Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI)

Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) - Traumatic brain injury occurs when an external mechanical force causes brain dysfunction. Traumatic brain injury usually results from a violent blow or jolt to the head or body. Traumatic brain injuries result in permanent neurobiological damage that can produce lifelong deficits to varying degrees. Brain injuries range from moderate to severe. Brain injuries may result in cognitive deficits including a decrease in attention span as well as concentration. People with TBI can also have problems with memory, impulsiveness, speed of processing information and understanding conversations. At Balance and Mobility, we can help treat the functional impairments that TBI patients can have such as pain management of headaches, balance deficits and vestibular therapy.
